Instructor Bios
Sarah Adair opened Dance eMotions in 2001. She is an active member of the Texas Dance Educators Association. She has been dancing for 26 years, working as a dance instructor for 15 years. After serving as top officer on her high school drill team, Ms. Sarah attended Southwest Texas State University where she majored in elementary education and minored in dance. In 1997, she received a scholarship to study with Alvin Ailey’s Dance Company. She has trained in all styles of dance, ballet and jazz being her favorites. Ms. Sarah is the proud mother of Addison and Aiden, and wife of Michael. She is thrilled to share her love and passion for dance with all of the wonderful students at Dance eMotions.
Melissa Best was born and raised here in Austin, TX! She began dancing at the age of two, and began dancing competitively at the age of nine. She went to McNeil High School where she was the top officer and choreographer for the Majestics. She has studied in New York City with Broadway Dance Center and Steps on Broadway, earning a scholarship to both. Melissa has been with Dance eMotions since it opened in 2001. In 2004 she moved to Germany with her first child and husband, where she studied dance/choreography in Gelnhausen, DE. After moving back to America, she moved to Kansas and became a preschool teacher. In 2007, she moved back to the Austin area, where she feels most at home. Melissa says her best medicine is dance. Her choreography has won top awards, recognized for being clean and fresh. When not dancing, Melissa is homeschooling her four children or leading bible study in her home. Melissa also enjoys organic eating and had her fourth child at home in a bathtub! Dance is one of many passions in her life, and she keeps her classroom fun and encouraging. Her teaching style instills confidence and character in her students.
Courtney Bohrer began dancing when she was three. She has been a member of the Shirley McPhail’s School of Dance Performing Troupe, Cedar Park High School Celebrities and is now a member of Impact Dance Company. In the past year, Courtney held the title of Cedar Park Celebrities First Lieutenant and choreographed many of the team’s dances. She has attended conventions such as TATD, NUVO, NYCDA, and PULSE which included classes by choreographers such as Mia Michaels, Wade Robson, Joey and Jackie Downing, and many more. She has choreographed for all ages including Westside Elementary School, Cedar Park Middle School, and Cedar Park High School. She has always been very passionate about dance and choreography and has taken classes all over the Austin area. As the oldest of four children in her family, she has always enjoyed being around kids.
Elizabeth Pless is from Arkadelphia, AR. She danced with the pre professional dance company Arkansas Festival Ballet in Little Rock, AR. During her time there she performed various roles such as Big Swans in Swan Lake, Act 2, with Patricia Barker as Odette, and also Carabosse in Sleeping Beauty. She trained at Texas Ballet Theater School on scholarship for a year. She also attended various summer programs at Long Beach Ballet, Nashville Ballet and Joffrey Ballet schools. Ms. Liz has performed twice with the Jazz Ballet Company of Austin and showcased her choreography at one of these shows.
Elizabeth Sterling started training in classical ballet at the age of 15 at the Faubourg School of Ballet in Hanover Park, IL. At the age of 17 she came under the mentorship of Patti Eylar and continued training on scholarship at Chicago Ballet Arts under Amy Rose, Calvin Kitten, and many other accomplished professionals. She has spent summers training on scholarships at Orlando Ballet,Hubbard Street, and Kaatsbaan Extreme Ballet, as well as others. In 2007-2008 she danced and toured with the Joffrey Ballet of Chicago as a dancer for their production of “Giselle” and also was a company member with the Madison Ballet of Wisconsin. Last year she moved to Texas after getting married and has been teaching and continuing to further her education in dance. Elizabeth loves teaching all ages and is thrilled to have the opportunity to share her passion with her students!
